A Message from The Founder

SmarterStops was founded by Teresa Lo.

She retired from the securities industry in 1998 after a twelve-year career.  Since then, she has helped thousands of individual investors, traders and investment advisors achieve their goals and secure their financial futures. She is currently the portfolio manager for a private investment fund.

I started my career in the investment industry right out of university back in the mid-1980s.  My friends and associates range from floor traders to hedge fund quants.  After twenty years in the business, I’ve seen it all.  The one thing I know for sure is this: the road to profits is paved with hazards to your wealth.

It’s impossible to learn everything you need to know in a weekend seminar. Trading systems that cost thousands of dollars won’t help either.  Refuse to pay for infomercials, glossy magazine ads and a huge sales force.  Even if the vendor offers a money back guarantee, YOUR hard-earned savings that THEIR product lost will never be recovered.

We do things differently around here.  People asked for trading tools that work.  We did it.  People asked for investment portfolios that make money.  We did it.  What we DIDN’T do is charge outrageous prices.  We simply ask our clients to pay a reasonable fee in exchange for our time and knowledge.

We have NEVER bought an ad.  Our clients find us through referrals and by word of mouth.  Many of our clients are industry professionals and investment advisors.  We spend our time doing research and development, helping clients achieve the success they deserve, one at a time.
